The make-up of a perfect client in your solo law practice, includes careful consideration of the demographics and a certain criteria to attract new potential law clients.
Sharon had the pleasure of being a guest recently, on The Powerhouse Practice Podcast show, hosted by Nancy L. Cavey. Sharon’s talks about the process of how to pick your perfect client, and how not achieving that can make or break your practice. We are tempted as lawyers to have lots of cases, because we feel like we have to fill our practice buckets, as opposed to having the perfect client for our practice.
She had determined along the way, what the best cases are and what are the characteristics of those clients.
- What is the perfect age category for your perfect client?
- What does it mean if the potential client has a history of challenges, perhaps failed surgeries and/or treatments in their case?
- Does it matter where the client is located and the judges involved?
Once you’ve gone through the process of establishing who your perfect client is, which will include different strategies, you then determine the best approach to marketing and attracting your perfect law client.
And Yes – it’s OK to say NO, if a potential client is NOT your perfect client. Have the courage to say No and stop the ‘everything to everybody’ approach. It will not serve you well.
Instead of having one way to get 100 clients, it’s way more effective to have 10 ways to get 10 perfect clients, so that you can be moving forward to a successful and thriving law practice!
