What do women lawyers need to do to take care of themselves? How do you even find the  time for self-care when your days are filled with back-to-back appointments and you can hardly get time to eat let alone take time for self-care?

When you don’t put yourself first, you burn out.

When you get over the guilt and shame from putting yourself first you can get on with what is important for you.

When you’re living in a career where tension is a large part of how everyone lives, how do you approach or deal with it?

The key is your breathing. It’s your life-force. Breathing slower and deeper can really help.

Clients can often come into your space with heightened emotions. You feel it, but you can also control it.

By listening MORE, and controlling your breathing, you can really affect your clients more and actually calm them down.

Practicing self-awareness helps. Find time in your day to actually focus on yourself and your breathing.

What depletes you and what energizes you?

As lawyers, when you’re triggered and you immediately get emotional, there is a tendency to react, or for some, overreact. If you can catch yourself, take a beat and do the breathing you will be better off.
